By "Free Camping Catalog" I mean a catalog that lists free places to camp. The catalog isn't free, but I will give you some free camping information here as well. There really are free campgrounds, even with showers, as well as other places you can camp for free.
At WalMart, camping is allowed, if you are in a van or RV. Up to this point, only a few Walmarts have had enough problems to forbid overnight stays in their parking lots. Flying J Truckstops also allow you to park overnight for free. For more information on both of these, go to the page, "Walmart Camping."
Generally, you can camp for free on any BLM (Bureau of Land Management) land, unless it is specifically forbidden in an area. This is also true of National Forest lands. In both cases you are limited to a stay of two weeks in one place, although this rule is not always enforced, and your move to the next two-week place might have to be only a few hundred yards or less. Then there are the free campgrounds. We stayed in our van for ten days at Williams Landing, east of Tallahassee, Florida, on Lake Talquin. It is a beautiful place, and had hot showers too. The cost? Zero. No charge, and you can stay up to two weeks. There are many free campgrounds scattered around the country. Apart from asking the next RVer you see, the best way to find them is with the Woodall's directories. These you can buy from any large RV dealer.
